The mother of all gelato tradeshows may very well be worth that trip to Italy!

Six years ago gelaticians Cristina and Paola Marrazzo decided to move from Italy to the USA with a mission: to introduce their artisan gelato to America. During that time they have opened two shops, both called That’s Amore Gelato, each with a loyal following of gelato aficionados.

Originally from Bergamo in the Lombardy region of Italy, they chose Arizona for its dry climate as one of their children suffered from asthma. Since then they’ve proven that the American Dream still exists and thanks to Scottsdale’s marvelous climate even the asthma subsided.
Cristina and Paola learned to make gelato at an early age while working in gelaterie throughout Milano and say that they “have the secrets of artisan gelato making sealed in their hearts”. They abide by the same philosophy as they did in Italy: gelato isn't just a treat but an essential part of living. In following that school of thought, they adhere to the doctrine that choice is essential. And accordingly, each of their shops offers a whopping 42 flavors everyday plus seasonal selections!

In addition to offering numerous flavors, there is another important similarity that both That's Amore locations offer and the gelatician sisters are quick to point out: one of them is always present in each shop. Cristina and Paola understand that leaving their precious product in the hands of just anyone is out of the question and communicating with their clientele is part of the reason why people keep coming back.

Along with wonderful gelato, That’s Amore Gelato offers a wide selection of coffee based beverages, semi-freddo cakes that are custom made upon request and an Italian regionally themed panini menu. If gelato isn't enough for someone’s sugar fix, their pastry offerings include such favorites as sfogliatelle, tiramisu, cannoli, panna cotta and a variety of Italian cookies.

That’s Amore Gelato shops are both spacious and offer indoor and outdoor seating with ample parking. Free WiFi service is available keeping clients in as long as possible. Their 42+ daily flavors are pumped out by a mixed bag of machines including Carpigiani and Taylor (by Frigomat) batch freezers. Their gorgeous sprawling display cases were custom made by ISA.

Besides Cristina and Paola, That’s Amore’s culinary team includes their husbands Fabio Foggi and Davide Giacomelli making it a family affair in true Italian spirit, something that is important for them. But while all of the tradition surrounding their shops is very dear to them, Cristina and Paola attribute their success to one main factor: fabulous authentic artisan gelato.
