ICI offers qualified candidates the position of kitchen assistants for the three month full immersion course Master of Italian Cuisine. During the program, Assistants enjoy the same benefits as other participants including culinary travel, all extracurricular activities, free time and more. As well, Assistants are present at all course instruction with the unique experience of assisting our masters.

In return for the work, Assistants are offered this complete program for half of the public price and includes three months accommodations at a three star hotel, all meals with wines and everything mentioned above.

Italian Haute Cuisine & Wines MASTER'S PROGRAM

*PRICE FOR KITCHEN ASSISTANTS:


South Italy: EURO 4995 per person

*PRICE INCLUDES:
This program is all inclusive from the time of arrival at the airport until departure. There are no other fees.

  • Theoretical and practical lessons, recipe and technique books & all related costs at the Italian Institute for Advanced Culinary and Pastry Arts on location and planned excursions. (300 hrs. full immersion + weekly cultural excursions)
  • Accommodations in private apartments or hotel (3***) 90 Nts.
  • All meals, wines and bottled water included at the Hotel, the Institutes and restaurants.

Applicants for Kitchen Assistant must meet the following Requirements:

  • Over 18 years of age.
  • Fluent in English, proficient in Italian language
  • Have a minimum of one year of culinary education OR one year of practicable work experience in a food service setting.
  • Good physical stamina: position will sometimes be physically demanding as any kitchen and restaurant environment including repetitive motion, bending, climbing stairs and heavy lifting. Must be physically capable of completing the practical aspects of the program
  • Great attitude, easy going and team spirit.
  • Good interpersonal and social skills

Assistants will have the following responsibilities:

  • Identical schedule as other participants plus an additional two hours each day that lessons are scheduled. Days off correspond with other participants.
  • Set up misenplace for the chefs
  • Assist the chefs during lessons
  • Coordination of inventory and for maintaining high standards in sanitation, cleaning (kitchen only) and overall organization of storage areas

Payment
A deposit of EURO 4995 is required upon reservation.
This deposit is refundable minus a EURO 100 administration fee until 90 days prior to the commencement date.

The balance is due upon arrival in Italy.

Terms and conditions as a participant in Master of Italian Cuisine

Acceptance conditions
Candidates must be at least 18 years old upon commencement of the program. A position in the culinary field is not mandatory but an adequate knowledge in cooking is required to maximize your participation in the course.

Administrative procedures
If applicable, all necessary documents must be obtained from the Italian authorities
in your own country.

Insurance
If applicable, participants must take out their own insurance policy for medical fees and for
repatriation if applicable.

General Information
Number of participants: maximum of 18 students for the 2004 agenda. The Italian Institute for Advanced Culinary and Pastry Arts reserves the right to increase the number of participants. Lessons are conducted in English and Italian. Lectures given by non English-speaking Masters will be simultaneously translated  into English.

Accommodations
Full board and accommodations are provided at a superior hotel (3 star) in Brescia, Italy or in private villas in Calabria, Italy. All meals include wines and bottled water.

Attire
Each participant is responsible for providing his or her own Kitchen uniform. 1 chef's jacket is provided. Semi Formal (upscale-casual) dress may be required on some occasions.

Skills
The same as any professional kitchen: Good manual dexterity / Nervous and physical stamina / Team spirit / Imagination Ability to adapt to all kinds of situations / Dynamism / Practical sense.

*Prices
The package for all programs includes all costs from arrival to the airport until departure: all lectures and tasting sessions, all fares for the trips included in the program, all fees for dinners at the area's finest restaurants, all meals with wines and bottled water including Saturdays and Sundays, full-board accommodation at a superior hotel, the teaching staff and translator's fees, use of knives and studying equipment and everything listed in the price includes section of the course description.

*Prices do not include airfare to and from Italy or personal expenses such as shopping and travel not stated in the program.



The Italian Institute for Advanced Culinary and Pastry Arts reserves the right to reschedule courses at its own discretion. Participants who are unable to attend rescheduled dates will be issued a full refund. It is recommended that all participants obtain travel insurance in order to alleviate eventual penalties for ticket changes. Please contact us with any questions or comments.
